Artist Statement
Sofia Wilkinson-Steel is a queer female photographer from Cambridgeshire, UK. Inspired by Pop and Meme Culture, she often explores female identity, sexuality and relationships through her work. Using often tongue-and-cheek humour and friendly satire, she is able to comment on topics typically seen as ‘low brow’. With her work, she wants to create art that is more accessible to everyone, making it fun and laughable whilst also portraying commentary on how we perceive media and how it influences us.
